Easington Colliery Parish Council is pleased to announce the planned arrangements for this year’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations, scheduled to take place on Sunday 8 November 2026. The event will bring together veterans, service organisations, local groups, schools and residents to honour the service and sacrifice of those who have given their lives in conflict and in the defence of our freedoms.
The morning will begin with an assembly at Easington Colliery Club before a civic procession proceeds to the Church of the Ascension for a Remembrance Sunday service. Following the church service, participants will process to the Cenotaph on Crawlaw Road for the Act of Remembrance.
The Parish Council warmly invites all members of the community to attend and join in remembering those who have served and sacrificed.

Important Notice
Please note that all procession arrangements and timings are currently subject to Durham County Council formally approving the necessary road closure order.
The Parish Council is working with partner organisations to secure the required permissions and, whilst every effort is being made to deliver the event as outlined above, the final arrangements cannot be confirmed until the road closure order has been granted.
Should any amendments to the programme become necessary, updated information will be published on the Parish Council website and social media channels.
